Development is still moving forward for Boxman, and this week I’ll be showing you some of the more graphical changes made in the game.
Basically me and David sat down and talked and both decided that it was high time that the weapons for all 4 classes get updated to fully match the art style we are embracing more and more. We know that the look we are going for is a basic geometry, while at the same time being very sharp and cool. This I think has been a interesting balance of detail and basic shapes, but I am starting to really get a hang of it.
I started the process by picking up reference images off google, and seeing what I liked for each class and from there, making some sketches for the weapons. Once I had those completed I would begin the modeling process. They turn out pretty awesome after that stage, but I still take them to David and others to get their thoughts on the model. After that I make a few iterations and near the final model. The two that are near completion are the Marksman and the Trooper. Both are still NOT complete but the overall feel and shape of the gun is near completion.
Here are the sketches for the Trooper and Marksman respectively.

We are trying to be more active with the site and development with the community, and when the summer rolls in we will be busier than ever! We will then start doing tons of exciting stuff like live streams and Q&As. We hope to see you there!
